West Ham United unlikely to pursue Youssef En-Nesyri after major transfer news

West Ham are “unlikely” to target Youssef En-Nesyri after the latest transfer developments to come out of the London Stadium, according to a Claret & Hugh report on 21 June.

The Sevilla forward scored only eight goals across all competitions in 2021/22 having fallen very much out of form.

According to ExWHUemployee speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast, the Irons have pursued the Moroccan striker over the last couple of seasons and even tabled a bid of around £40million for him.

He went on to say that the Morocco international has been offered to the east Londoners this summer for £25million.

However, with the Hammers making Chelsea forward Broja their “top striker target” [Daily Mail, 21 June], their interest in the La Liga ace has seemingly been dropped.

Moyes and co are now preparing a £30million bid for the Southampton loanee who bagged nine goals in the Premier League last term.

Thank god.

West Ham might have been in for Nesyri last summer but he is a completely different player to the one he was when they reportedly submitted £40million for him.

Since then his form has plummeted and Sevilla are clearly trying to get rid of him by offering him to the Irons for £25million.

How can a player’s value drop £15million in one season? that is crazy. It looks as if Moyes has dodged a bullet with this one – let’s hope the reports are true.

Despite still being only 20 years old and largely untested at the highest level, Broja seems like a far better choice.

He burst onto the scene in his first season playing first-team football showing off his power, pace and finishing ability.

The Chelsea youngster has so much ability but more importantly a huge amount of potential.

With Michail Antonio needing backup and most likely to need replacing long-term soon, Broja could solve both problems.
