West Ham United under pressure to keep Tim Steidten at London Stadium as sources speak out
West Ham are under pressure to convince technical director Tim Steidten not to leave the club amid interest from Liverpool, according to Jacob Steinberg.
The journalist reported via the newspapers’ website on 19 February that there is growing concern that Steidten is not happy at the London Stadium, as sources believe he is frustrated with the club.
That frustration is said to come from not having been allowed enough power due to the way the Hammers operate, although that could change if David Moyes is sacked.
Tim Steidten could leave West Ham already
Having arrived in the summer as part of a new backroom shake-up at the London Stadium, Steidten played a key role in bringing both Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez to East London.
Both signings have been highly praised so far this season, with the technical director taking much of the credit for their individual performances at the London Stadium.
However, it was suggested in the summer that tension had grown between Steidten and Moyes as the pair disagreed over key transfer targets and the direction they wanted to go in, leading to a dispute behind the scenes in East London.

Now, with Steidten heavily tipped as one of the candidates for the Liverpool job, those frustrations could play a key part if he decides to quit East London after just one season working at the London Stadium.
