West Ham United transfer update emerges on Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phllips with Declan Rice set for Arsenal
West Ham appear to be wasting no time in getting in a replacement for the Arsenal-bound Declan Rice with Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips eyed.
According to 90Min [29 June], the England international is very close to being on the top of the Hammers’wishlist for this transfer window.
His move to City has not panned out the way he would’ve wanted to, on a personal level, despite winning the treble there this past season.

Worth considering
It’s not easy to break into that Man City side filled with world class talent so Phillips not playing regularly is not throwing shade at him.
He’s also been extremely unlucky with injuries but has proven with Leeds and the England national team that he can deliver at the highest level.
David Moyes is known to be a big fan of the midfielder and if he is available on the cheap, he surely would consider bringing him in.

If the Scotsman can get a ball winner in midfield, in the mould of Joao Palhinha to play along side Phillips who can be the playmaker, Lucas Paqueta will also manage to thrive in that role.
It remains to be seen if Phillips would fancy the move as he’s reiterated his desire to stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond this summer.
However, if he’s serious about being a regular for England he needs to be playing week in and week out and that’s just going to happen if he leaves.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
