West Ham United transfer update as interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher genuine
West Ham are be tracking 20 players this summer of which the Tottenham-linked Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher may be one of them, claim Six Foot Two.
The reliable London Stadium source [18 July] claims that there are doubts over the 23-year-old’s game time this coming season under Mauricio Pochehttino.
Sky Sports reported on 17 July that the Hammers have already held advanced talks with the England international.
Good option
Gallagher may not be everyone’s cup of tea based on what he did at Chelsea last season but no Blues player really delivered.
It was due to the chaos behind the scenes and constant manager upheaval which prevented anybody from getting into the rhythm.
A better assessment of Gallagher’s performance will be to check out how he fared for West Brom and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
He was a class act in both his loan spells and perhaps does not need to be at a super-rich club like Chelsea and would much rather be at the London Stadium.
He knows that the Hammers recruitment won’t just be to throw money at star players but to build a solid team in the post Declan Rice era.
