West Ham United transfer update as David Moyes considers Celtic job a step down

West Ham boss David Moyes reportedly considers the Celtic job a “step down” and appears keen on staying put at the London Stadium.

According to Claret and Hugh [11 June], a meeting was held on Friday to discuss the upcoming summer transfer window.

Moyes was assured that he would have the final say on any new signings and have the final veto for any deal.

Hope it goes well

Now perhaps seemed the ideal time for Moyes to walk away as the fans had turned on him mid way through the season and he came out with flying colours.

Not only did he win the Europa Conference League, but also turned their domestic form around and kept them in the top flight.

While an argument could be made that he’s bought himself some extra time, Declan Rice will be leaving and it’s going to be a rebuild in the summer.

This could be the perfect time for the West Ham hierarchy to go a different route and build the team under a different philosophy altogether.

However, as things stand, Moyes appears to be the one likely to be at the helm next season so it should be an interesting window ahead.

Deciding who comes in for Rice is one of the biggest challenges, and it also remains to be seen how much additional money will he be handed for new signings.
