West Ham United transfer update as £35.4m target Youssef En-Nesyri has value ‘significantly’ increased

Sevilla have “significantly” increased the value of West Ham target Youssef En-Nesyri to €40million (£35.4million), according to Fichajes.

The striker, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season, is also attracting interest from Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Amid the interest, his club Sevilla have now increased his value in an attempt to raise finances this summer.

West Ham

“The Moroccan striker has shown that he has a goal since his arrival at Sevilla in 2020. In the current season, he has scored 13 goals between the League, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Cup, and his value has increased significantly in recent months where his current value has stands at around 40 million euros,” according to Fichajes.

“The Premier League could be one of the most likely destinations for En-Nesyri should he decide to leave Sevilla this summer. In recent months, several English league clubs such as West Ham, Tottenham or Crystal Palace have shown interest in the player.

“In the end, everything will depend on En-Nesyri himself and his preferences regarding his sports career. Although it is true that the player has already rejected some proposals, it is possible that he is willing to consider an offer that is much more attractive to him sportingly and financially, and that allows him to continue growing in his professional career.”

Firepower needed

It’s no secret that West Ham are in desperate need of some attacking firepower, with the Hammers netting just 27 goals from their 29 Premier League matches this season.

That tally is among the lowest in the competition, with the likes of Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca all failing to hit the heights expected of them this season.

They have all suffered from injuries at various stages of the campaign, but even when fit they have failed to find any consistency going forward.

En-Nesyri has plenty of big-game experience, with the striker playing against the likes of Borussia Dortmund in this season’s Champions League and of course the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

He also stole the headlines in the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals with his winner against Portugal for Morocco.

Whether or not the 25-year-old is the solution to West Ham’s attacking problems remains to be seen, but perhaps he cannot fare much worse than the current crop.
