West Ham United transfer twist as double striker move now on cards

West Ham United could still sign two new strikers before the September 1st deadline, according to Santi Aouna.

The Foot Mercato journalist has shared that Tim Steidten is due in Brazil for talks over Corinthians hitman Yuri Alberto, and he wants to return with him on board.

On top of that, Hugo Ekitike and Youssef En-Nesyri are also still being followed and one of them could also join as well as the Brazilian over the next four days.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Aouna said: “Tim Steidten will fly in Brasil in the next hours for Yuri Alberto, the striker of Corinthians with who he got an agreement. The German sports director wants to seal the deal and come with the player to London.

“West Ham still follow Hugo Ekitike/ Youssef En-Neysri. Talks ongoing with agents and PSG/Séville. The Hammers could sign two strikers before the end of the market.”

Wow.

David Moyes would be a very happy man if we finished the window with two new strikers.

Does that mean that Michail Antonio could potentially move on though? With the Jamaican international linked with an exit all summer despite consistently starting and scoring at the start of this season.

Alberto appears to be the main priority as things stand with Steidten in Brazil to try and get a deal over the line, and once he jets out of England, he usually comes back with his main target on board too.

We have seen that happen with Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus now, so it will be no surprise if the same happens again with this potential move.

Then it comes down to En-Nesyri or Ekitike it seems, although after already spending big cash, if one of those clubs accepts a loan move with a potential obligation, that may be the player who is signed.

Anything can happen in the final days and hours of a transfer window, and this is certainly one to watch after a very positive end to the transfer season.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have already identified their next priority having signed Mohammed Kudus
