West Ham United transfer news: Roma chief arrives in London as Gianluca Scamacca future hangs in balance

Roma club director Tiago Pinto has reportedly arrived in London as West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca’s future hangs in the balance.

According to Ryan Express from the Daily Express, Pinto will be meeting CAA Stellar to discuss the availability of the Italy international this summer.

The 24-year-old moved to the London Stadium last summer but could be heading back to Italy to play under Jose Mourinho.

Taylor tweeted, “Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto in London to work on signings & outgoings for José Mourinho. Pinto due to meet with CAA Stellar to discuss future of West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca, who is a loan target following Tammy Abraham’s ACL injury.”

Two big-name departures?

Declan Rice appears all set to leave and he may not be the only big-name departure from West Ham this summer.

It seems like David Moyes will be staying on and he would’ve wanted the same crop of players for next season as well.

He may have already prepared to deal with Rice’s absence, but Scamacca’s exit has come from out of the blue and he will need to be replaced as well.

West Ham

It seemed like a major coup when West Ham managed to sign him ahead of teams like Arsenal and Juventus who were linked with him.

While Arsenal have moved on, Juventus do still seem interested and the same can be said about Roma as well.

It’s understood that the Hammers have given the green light to his sale this summer which means there’s a good chance of a return to Italy provided the clubs match the valuation.
