West Ham United transfer news: Manchester United enter Declan Rice race with fresh twist
Manchester United have reportedly joined Manchester City and Arsenal in the race to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
According to the Telegraph [21 June], the Red Devils will be offering Scott McTominay along with Harry Maguire along with money to sign the 24-year-old.
McTominay has been linked with a move to the London Stadium over the past few months as well with the Hammers keen on signing a new midfielder.

The report reads, “Manchester United are considering rivalling Arsenal’s move for Declan Rice by proposing a player-plus-cash deal that could involve Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay.
“Sources have confirmed to Telegraph Sport West Ham would want to sign McTominay, with the 26-year-old having been made available for transfer as Erik ten Hag plans to re-shape his squad and increase his spending power.”
Good money upfront
West Ham need to make the most in terms of money from Rice’s sale rather than sign washed up players from clubs in the Champions League.
Both Maguire and McTominay have fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and while they may put in a decent shift at Old Trafford, the club should be targeting better players.
Rice’s exit is almost set in stone and there seems to be a bidding war being sparked with City and Arsenal also unlikely to be quiet.
It’s best if the Hammers demand something over the nine-figure mark, and even if they do not sign any player as part of the deal, it’s fine.
David Moyes surely will have a list of targets in mind to replace Rice so it’s best if the money is left to spend as he feels fit.
It will be interesting to see that if Manchester United table a bid, and how much they’re actually willing to offer.
