West Ham United transfer news: Filip Kostic deadline day update emerges amid pursuit of £25m-rated Juventus man
West Ham have “ended their interest” in Filip Kostic and won’t be signing the Juventus man this summer, according to 6 Foot 2.
The site’s editor reported via Twitter on deadline day (1 September) that the Hammers were “no longer” after the left-sided wing-back and the pursuit was over.
Reignited interest in the 30-year-old and emerged in the final month of the transfer window, after he had been a target a year ago before he left Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sky Sports had reported on 31 August that Juventus valued Kostic as highly as £25million, with the Irons looking at a possible loan or permanent deal, but it looks like it won’t be happening.
No dice
The Hammers have been linked to various moves heading into the final day, but the momentum that had built to a peak with the exciting capture of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax has fallen flat.
Kostic might have helped Aaron Cresswell finally move on but it looks like the Hammers veteran will be remaining at the London Stadium along with all of the other exit-linked men.
The Serb would have been an expensive deal to do for a player who is already in his 30s if it was to be a permanent deal.

He had made 54 total appearances for the Serie A giants last season but hasn’t featured once for the Old Lady so far this term.
The fact that he seems to be surplus to requirements at the Allianz Stadium clearly raised hopes at West Ham that a year down the line they could complete their pursuit.
But, barring a very late change of direction, it looks like the Hammers window is going to end pretty quietly with more focus on the game at Luton Town.
In other West Ham news, there is a deal still in the offing past the end of the deadline after a contract update emerged.
