West Ham United transfer news as Tim Steidten recommends David Moyes to sign Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres
West Ham chief Tim Steidten has recommended David Moyes to sign Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres, according to James Nursery.
The Mirror journalist claimed on Thursday (3 August) that the Spain international was among the many names suggested by the director.
However, they were turned down by the Hammers boss and there are understood to be major problems between the duo.
Via Twitter, Nursery wrote, “I’ve also heard big problems between Moyes & technical director Tim Steidten. TS recommended players like Edson Alvarez, Elye Wahi, P Schuss, F Torres, Kerkez, Amrabat, Etiteke, B Meijer, M Leonardo, N Jackson, D Rensche, Gnonto, Beto, C Alcatraz, & A Veliz but DM not keen many & wants full control.”
Weird dynamic
If the Hammers hierarchy were going to bring in someone who was going to veto everything Moyes wanted, then they should not have kept him.
Had the Conference League not been won there was every reason for the Scotsman to be sacked and a new manager handling the rebuild.
Everyone knew that Declan Rice was going to leave the club but the board entrusted Moyes to be the one to build the team after his exit.

For that, he deserves his signings and it’s already August with no new deals over the line so that’s certainly something to worry about.
Steidten may have his ideas and that’s where he and Moyes need to sit down and hash out their plans for the coming days and weeks.
This is no way a professional club should be handling their transfer business and it’s about time things change at West Ham.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
