West Ham United transfer news as talks held for Hugo Ekitike, loan or permanent deal possible
West Ham United are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for striker Hugo Ekitike, according to Sky Sports.
The publication reported on its website on Tuesday (29 August) that both a loan and permanent deal are being discussed.
The 21-year-old has 33 PSG appearances to his name, but has played just eight minutes for the French giants so far in the new Ligue 1 campaign.

“West Ham are in talks with Paris Saint Germain over the signing of striker Hugo Ekitike,” according to Sky Sports.
“Discussions are over both a permanent deal and a loan.”

Great option
West Ham certainly haven’t been goalshy this season, with the Hammers banging in seven goals from their first three matches of the new Premier League campaign.
That includes putting three past both Chelsea and Brighton in impressive 3-1 wins, with the other goal coming in the opening day 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. Number one striker Michail Antonio has been among the goals, as has star winger Jarrod Bowen.
But it really is just the early stages of the season, with David Moyes’ side set to come crashing back down to earth when their Europe League campaign gets underway.
The Hammers, having won the Europa Conference League last season, must now make the step up to Europe’s second-best club competition.
And that will inevitably involve players getting tired more easily and, even worse, getting injured. At just 21, Ekitike is still young, but his rapid rise shows he can be an exciting option when Moyes needs it.
In other West Ham news, a late summer approach has been made for a big-name Hammers player.
