West Ham United transfer news as Samuel Iling-Junior could cost £15m amid new approach
Juventus forward Samuel Iling-Junior could cost around £15m if West Ham United were to pursue a move for him on transfer deadline day, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The former Eurosport journalist, taking to his personal Twitter account (1 September) tweeted in response to reports suggesting that the Hammers made an approach to Juventus to sign the talented England under-21 international [Graeme Bailey, 1 September].
Iling-Junior, who moved to the Italian side from Premier League club Chelsea in 2020, has made two Serie A appearances this season, and according to Jones, West Ham are only exploring a potential deal for Iling-Junior in case a move for Filip Kostic fails.
The 30-year-old has been a late target for the Hammers this summer, with Sky Sports reporting on their live transfer blog (31 August, 08:42) that he could cost at least £20million.
Jones, taking to his Twitter account wrote: “Iling-Junior would cost around £15m if West Ham were to pursue that link but at the moment it seems an exploration amid the Kostic talks.”
Another attacker transfer needed
West Ham United have been superb in the transfer market this summer, securing deals for Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Mohammed Kudus and defender Konstantinos Mavropanos but it seems as if David Moyes wants to bolster his attacking weaponry.
And a new winger is certainly needed, especially if Hammers midfielder Pablo Fornals departs East London in a last-gasp deadline deal. Approaches for Kostic and Iling-Junior have seemingly been made and it certainly makes the world of sense.

The Hammers are keen on the Serbian international, but seemingly both Juventus and the Hammers are quite far away in terms of agreeing a deal, or even the terms of a deal.
But, if the Irons were to get this deal done, it would certainly represent another marquee acquisition so would Iling-Junior.
Moyes needs goals and assists in his attacking weaponry for this season, and it would be incredibly disappointing if the club were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign another attacker, with a Europa League adventure to come this season.
It’s clear the club needs attacking options right now but time is running out with the transfer deadline at 11pm fast approaching.
In other West Ham news, an unnamed Saudi club have made an offer to the Hammers for a £24million-plus valued star.
