West Ham United transfer news as Newcastle intensify pursuit of Lucas Paqueta

Newcastle have launched an enquiry into signing West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta this summer, according to Six Foot Two.

The reliable website on all things London Stadium wrote [15 July] that the Brazilian’s new agent may engineer a move to St James’ Park.

He recently changed his agent and will now be represented by TFM Agency which is 50% owned by Roc Nation, founded by rapper Jay-Z.

Money talks

There could be a sizeable offer that Newcastle make to Paqueta which he feels is too hard to turn down.

He only moved to the London Stadium last summer and does not have the same kind of loyalty a player who’s been there for years would.

At the end of the day, he will look out for his better interests and will see that a club in the Champions League are willing to pay big money for him.

David Moyes will certainly not want two of his best midfielders leaving the club in the same transfer window.

He’s already dealing with the absence of Declan Rice who is now officially a West Ham player and replacing him will be a tough task in itself.

Thus, the loss of Paqueta may be too much and the hierarchy will pull out all stops in order to keep him at the club for another year.

In other West Ham news, an injury expert has claimed that Moyes’ physical demands could see another star player seek a London Stadium exit this summer.
