West Ham United transfer news as new signing update emerges with Danny Ings likely to leave

Danny Ings is another player who’s likely to leave West Ham before the transfer window closes, according to Six Foot Two.

The reliable Hammers news website reported via its Twitter account on Monday (28 August) that Ings’ exit could see another homegrown signing being made at the London Stadium.

The 31-year-old England international only joined the club in January this year and is already being linked with the exit door.

Via Twitter, 6ft2 wrote, “Danny Ings is likely to leave West Ham this summer meaning a home grown replacement would be required.

“Current most likely replacement for him would be Lingard on a free if he is fit.”

Baffling call

The point of signing Ings in the first place now seems redundant as he was barely used by David Moyes and is now likely to leave.

With Michail Antonio also close to an exit, while no decision has been made yet on his exit, there is the possibility of all their top three strikers leaving this summer.

Gianluca Scamacca is still to be replaced and now it seems like Ings will also need replacing.

West Ham

Someone like Che Adams would be a decent shout to come in for the Englishman as Southampton got relegated from the Premier League.

He will count as homegrown and arguably is an upgrade on Ings who’s failed to make an impression at the London Stadium.

It remains to be seen who their first-choice striker is once the window shuts and who they bring in to be a backup option.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leaving his side this summer.
