West Ham United transfer news as imminent pursuit of defender Adrien Truffert on the cards
West Ham are ready to rush to secure the services of Rennes defender Adrien Truffert this summer, claims Ignazio Genuardi.
The former Football365 journalist claims that on the basis of the recommendation of Nayef Aguerd, the Hammers are keen on bringing the 21-year-old left-back to the London Stadium.
LBCDS journalist Seb Ecrivan claimed on July 29 that they were even prepared to table a 17million bid to sign the France international.
Via Twitter, Genuardi wrote, “In search of a new left side, West Ham has a weakness for Rennais #Truffert (who has an offer to extend to Brittany). On the advice of his ex-teammate Aguerd, the Hammers are ready to rush on the Habs.”
Good signing
There are talks to sell Aaron Cresswell, perhaps to Wolves, so the most sensible option is to buy someone who’s on the other side of the experience graph.
The English full-back has his best years behind him while the Frenchman is only going to get better and is still just 21.
He’s proven himself at Rennes and at different age groups in the France setup before finally getting his chance to make his senior debut.

Even Aguerd was a relative unknown when he joined but he’s proven to be one of the better signings in recent years for West Ham.
There’s a feeling that it’ll be the same with Truffert and he can compete with Emerson to see who is the first-choice left-back.
Aguerd’s presence coupled with European football may swing this in the Hammers’ favour and it remains to be seen if this gets done soon.
In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
