West Ham United transfer news as higher proposal needed to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri
West Ham United need to present a higher proposal if they are to sign “very important” Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to Mucho Deporte
The Spanish medial outlet (21 August), reports that the Hammers are at the front of the queue for the Moroccan international but would need to present a higher offer than the £27m they offered for him previously.
It’s also been reported that Sevilla sees him as a very important asset in the squad but are open to a sale should West Ham present a suitable offer with 90Min journalist Toby Cudworth (21 August) reporting that the Spanish Europa League champions value him at £35m.

Viable option
En-Nesyri, who starred for Morocco at the World Cup, is certainly going to be a man in demand this summer and certainly represents a viable option should the Hammers fail to identify a reliable goalscorer elsewhere.
He’s been linked with a move to West Ham in the past but those were under different circumstances after two back-to-back top-seven finishes and a stunning 2020/21 campaign where he hit 18 goals in 38 La Liga games.

Since then, the 26-year-old has certainly endured an unfortunate decline and that is highlighted through his goalscoring record since then, going on to score just 13 goals in two seasons, and it remains to be seen whether En-Nesyri has the qualities to lead West Ham United into a new era.
En-Nesyri is guilty of missing the easy chances and scoring the most difficult ones as most recently shown in Sevilla’s UEFA Super Cup defeat to Manchester City last week. The Irons need a reliable and consistent goal threat to ease the pressure on Michail Antonio.
Do West Ham need a striker of En-Nesyri’s ilk right now? If they are to reach new levels under David Moyes this season then probably not but the Moroccan does hold European pedigree which will certainly tempt the Hammers into pursuing a move for his services.
The Moroccan bagged four goals on the way to Sevilla’s Europa League triumph last season but whether he can translate that on the scene in East London is another matter entirely.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have entered the hunt to sign this incredibly gifted Belgian attacker.
