West Ham United transfer news as Goncalo Ramos offer emerges from Jorge Mendes
West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos by his super-agent Jorge Mendes, according to The Sun.
The 21-year-old Portuguese international has enjoyed a sensational individual campaign for Benfica and his country, starring both at club level and on the international stage at World Cup, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
The Hammers have been linked with Ramos before with 90Min reporting back in August that West Ham are in the hunt for his services, along with several other several other Premier League clubs.

And according to The Sun [16 June], super-agent Mendes has offered the £80m-rated hitman to Manchester United along with the likes of Newcastle, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
Mendes is reportedly pushing for to Ramos ply his trade in the Premier League next season.
Chance to show ambition
It’s certainly no secret that West Ham United could be set to lose both Gianluca Scamacca who is attracting interest from AS Roma and Michail Antonio also with the Jamaican international looking to seek pastures new.
That leaves former Aston Villa star Danny Ings as the only remaining option up-front for Moyes, but even the January signing faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium given his struggles since his move.

That leaves the Hammers in a desperate position to address their striking issue ahead of next season and with the club set to lose Declan Rice to a big-money transfer away and the potential freeing of funds from the departure of some key stars, West Ham United certainly have the opportunity to exert their ambition in the market as David Moyes looks to revamp his squad after a difficult domestic campaign.
With Europa League football on the horizon, the Irons can certainly attract some of Europe’s hottest assets and a move for Ramos, dubbed “impressive” by pundit Ian Wright, may seem a step too far for West Ham United to complete, but targeting a player of his ilk represents a huge statement of intent by Moyes and his team.
The Hammers desperately need a reliable source of goals next season to challenge on all fronts and a 30-goal striker in the form of Ramos could go a long way in significantly improving Moyes’ attack next season.
