West Ham United transfer news as double exit to set up Jota signing at London Stadium
West Ham are willing to allow Maxwel Cornet and Said Benrahma to leave the London Stadium before the February 1 deadline, according to Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported [30 January, page 69] that the Hammers are open to the pair leaving as they look set to bring in Jota as a replacement on loan from Al Ittihad.
It is understood that Nottingham Forest are exploring a loan for Cornet, who was handed just his second start of the season against Sheffield United on Sunday 21 January.
One in, two out
It is a smart move from West Ham to find a way to release the deadwood in David Moyes’ squad, even despite his lack of depth in some areas. Cornet has certainly failed to find any form at the club since arriving from Burnley in August 2022.
Benrahma, however, has been a long-standing servant of the club, making nearly 200 appearances since his move from Brentford. Although, with so many talented attackers in the side now, the Algerian has slipped down the pecking order.

It is time for the club to move on and bring a different set of players in, with Al Ittihad’s Jota representing that idea. The former Celtic man is capable of deputising on either wing, helping to former a fluid partnership with Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.
His move to Saudi Arabia may not have worked out, but his speed, agility and eye for goal could come in very handy as West Ham continue their bid for a top-four spot in the Premier League and search for more European glory.
