West Ham United transfer news as Dharmesh Sheth issues En-Nesyri and Ekitike updates

West Ham want to remain active in the last few hours of the window as they continue to keep tabs on Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri and PSG forward Hugo Ekitike, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 1 September to Give Me Sport that it will be difficult to sign either one of them due to the time that’s left in the window.

Despite Gianluca Scamacca’s exit, the Hammers are yet to sign a new striker this summer.

Sheth revealed: “They do want to be active in the remaining hours. They were after a striker; they were in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Hugo Ekitike and in talks with Sevilla over Youssef En-Nesyri but they both look like difficult deals to do particularly with the time that’s left. Never say never, but as it stands it may look like that West Ham United’s incoming business is done.”

Shocking

The Hammers made good money from the sales of Declan Rice and Scamacca this summer and it’s shambolic that they did not sign a new striker.

They struggled for goals last season and not signing a new striker when their main one leaves does not make any sense whatsoever.

Mohammed Kudus can play as a striker and so can Jarrod Bowen so perhaps that’s going to be the plan for the season.

Michail Antonio can also play as a nine as long as he can he stay fit and consistent so David Moyes does have a few options.

However, having a reliable goal scorer is something else altogether so this is something they need to consider in the next few hours.

Even a loan move for someone like Che Adams at Southampton will do but something needs to happen.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leaving his side this summer.
