West Ham United transfer news as David Moyes to speak with PSG starlet Hugo Ekitike
PSG striker Hugo Ekitike is set to have a discussion with West Ham manager David Moyes, amid interest from the club, according to Santi Aouna.
The FootMercato journalist reported via his personal Twitter account (24 August) that the 21-year-old striker has already held discussions with the Hammers’ sporting director Tim Steidten.
He has already spoken with West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten and is now due to chat with Moyes as speculation over the future of the France Under-21 international continues to swirl.
The Premier League club still face competition from English rivals Everton as well as from abroad, with the likes of Frankfurt and AC Milan also interested in the youngster’s signature.
Advancing
If the player is preparing to speak with Moyes directly, it can only be assumed that the interest is very real and that a deal is perhaps advancing for the striker to make the switch from Ligue 1 to the Premier League. The Hammers have been busy in the market recently and it seems as if a deal for a brand-new striker is the next piece of the puzzle.
Both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio are now the wrong side of 30, and Moyes will want some fresh, youthful legs up top in what is set to be a busy season for the club. Antonio played well against Chelsea, grabbing a goal in his team’s 3-1 win, although as the season goes on, it will be tricky to rely on him.

The UEFA Europa League, as well as domestic competitions, will leave the East London outfit with a packed schedule and it is important they have options to help cope with the demands of the fixture list.
Ekitike, therefore, could be the perfect solution.
In other West Ham news, the club are finalising details to sign a player who is currently in Bulgaria.
