West Ham United transfer news as club must explore deal for Odilon Kossounou
The Sun reported on 25 February that West Ham United are exploring a £25m summer transfer deal for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Odilon Kossounou.
The talented centre-back would be the perfect addition to reinvigorate the Hammers defence and the club must look into making this transfer happen.
With the “incredible” Craig Dawson leaving the club in January there is room in the West Ham United defence for a fresh, young and hungry face.

The 22-year-old is the exact kind of player the club needs to be targeting this summer and he has all the attributes to thrive in the Premier League.
Football scout Jacek Kulig described the Ivorian as a “crazy” talent, something which will be music to the ears of the Hammers faithful.
Menacing.
Standing at a menacing 6ft 3in tall the centre-back looks like the real deal but he also has the mature attitude and leadership skills to become a top defender in the near future.
Not only can he play in the centre of defence but the 22-year-old can also operate in defensive midfield or right-back if needed.
Versatility like this is a priceless trait to possess in the modern game and it’s something Kossounou would provide West Ham United with in abundance.
Leicester City were also reported to be keen on the youngster so West Ham United must act quickly if they are to lure the defender from the Bundesliga to England.
The glitz and glamour and bright lights of London will always help West Ham United against teams like Leicester and this could ultimately seal the deal for a player like Kossounou.
Whether the Hammers and David Moyes make a move for the Leverkusen centre-back remains to be seen but the club could do far worse in their search for defensive reinforcements.
