West Ham United transfer news as Boulaye Dia and Viktor Gyokeres updates emerge
West Ham United boss David Moyes is keen on Salernitana striker, Boulaye Dia, as the club targets more firepower for next season, according to the Daily Star.
The Hammers have also been linked to Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres after the Swedish international’s 21 goals fired the Sky Blues to a playoff place in the Championship.
Last season’s marquee signing Gianluca Scamacca has not lived up to expectations and is currently sidelined with a knee injury which will rule him out for the rest of the current campaign.

In the piece by Darren Lewis for the Daily Star [10 May, Page 44], the search for a striker was outlined: “Moyes is also a big fan of Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia, who he tried to sign in January.
“The Senegalese international has scored 17 times in all competitions in Italy this season, including five in his last four Serie A matches.”

Question for Moyes
The article sets out the desire of the West Ham boss to shape a new-look attack for his side, but given the ongoing uncertainty on the manager’s position, will Moyes still be at the club over the summer to bring in any new players?
That is very doubtful.
For now, the focus remains on the conclusion of the season with Premier League safety almost assured. As well as that, the Hammers are aiming for continental glory in the Europa Conference League, with AZ Alkmaar coming to the London Stadium on Thursday night for the semi-final, first leg.
Moyes will lean on the likes of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings to lead the line, in the pursuit of a final appearance in Prague but it seems clear that the club will be bringing in at least one striker for the new season.
There will be several changes for the Irons in the coming months.
