West Ham United transfer news as AC Milan striker Divock Origi wanted
West Ham United are interested in signing AC Milan forward Divock Origi this summer and have made an inquiry for his services, according to Tuttomercatoweb journalist Antonio Vitiello.
The former Liverpool forward has failed to hit the ground running with the Italian giants since his move to the Rossonieri last summer, scoring just two goals from his 35 appearances in all competitions this season.
His poor form has resulted in the Belgian international falling beneath both Olivier Giroud and 41-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the pecking order at the San Siro Stadium.
And according to Vitiello, taking to his personal Twitter account [21 May], AC Milan are on the hunt for a new forward this summer and are open to the sale of Origi.
Both West Ham United and Aston Villa have made inquiries for his services this summer, with the Belgian hitman also garnering interest from clubs in Turkey.
He tweeted: “Premier League teams interested in Divock Origi from AC Milan. West Ham and Aston Villa are inquiring. It is also popular in Türkey. Rossoneri looking for a striker for the summer.”
Starting chance needed
It’s fair to say Origi hasn’t had the best of times at the top level in England and Italy, playing bit-part roles for both Liverpool and AC Milan throughout his career.
Although Origi had his fair share of iconic moments during his time at Liverpool, he never managed to stamp down a position in the starting line-up and, whenever he was given a chance, never quite managed to take it.

The Belgian striker desperately needs a new lease of life elsewhere and given the fact that West Ham United may be resigned to losing both Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca this summer, there’s a chance the East Londoners will be on the prowl for a striker.
Certainly, Origi has struggled to cut it at both Milan and Liverpool but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t finally deserve starting opportunities elsewhere, and the Irons may prove the ideal club to provide it.
Origi is a striker who creates things out of nothing with his underrated technical ability, power, and speed and does know where the back of the goal is, he just needs a club to take a chance on him.
Step forward West Ham United?
