West Ham United transfer news amid Wolves and Nottingham Forest interest in Aaron Cresswell

Aaron Cresswell’s future at West Ham appears to be sorted despite Wolves and Nottingham Forest wanting him, according to Six Foot Two.

The reliable Hammers news website reported on its Twitter account on Wednesday (23 August) that new Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has not come in for him.

The 33-year-old pushed to leave for the Molineux and even missed training as they offered him better wages and he could be closer to his family as well.

Via Twitter, they wrote, “Aaron Cresswell looks set to remain a Hammer after Wolves have not returned for him with a fresh offer after the appointment of Gary O’Neil. Wolves left back Rayan Ait-Nouri now looks likely to stay.

“Despite reports linking Cresswell to Nottingham Forest there have been no other offers for the 33-year-old Hammer. He has returned to training with the full squad and was on the bench on Sunday.”

“Two year contract with better wages plus closer to his family in Liverpool where he bought a house last year.”

One more year

The Hammers have more pressing issues to deal with in the transfer window and need to strengthen their playing eleven.

Cresswell’s exit would mean they would have to look for a new left-back – adding to the list of positions they already want.

He can serve as backup to Emerson and hopefully, it’s the last of his antics of not showing up to training to force a move away.

Being one of the seniormost players in the dressing room, he is held to a certain standard and he has not lived up to it this summer.

David Moyes is expected to have a talk with him now as he’s set to stay but this cannot be the norm at the club for any player wanting to leave.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
