West Ham United transfer news: Add-ons criteria emerges as Chelsea and Manchester City bids expected for Declan Rice
West Ham have reportedly turned down the opening bid from Arsenal for Declan Rice and are expecting offers from Chelsea and Manchester City.
According to Six Foot Two [19 June], the opening offer they received for the 24-year-old was “ridiculous” as they’re holding out for 120million.
However, they’re looking at a sensible payment structure which includes easily attainable add-ons to take the price right up to their valuation.

Makes sense
Clubs can just look to inflate values by adding in clauses that are not easily attainable.
However, West Ham know that they’ve got to make the most of the interest shown in Rice as there could be three or four genuine candidates to sign him.
Arsenal are almost certainly going to come in with another bid and while it may not be what the Hammers want, it’ll at least be closer.

This could see someone like City or Chelsea make an even bigger offer as both of them have the financial muscle to outbid the Gunners.
City are understood to have among the biggest transfer budgets in history this summer so they could be the ones signing Rice.
West Ham do not care whom they sell to as long as they get what they want for the Englishman.
These are going to be an interesting few weeks and that’s perhaps why the Hammers hierarchy are waiting as they can sign new players once they know how much they’ll make from Rice’s sale.
