West Ham United told to make David Moyes announcement amid Ruben Amorim speculation
West Ham United have been told to make an announcement over David Moyes’ future amid ongoing speculation, by Andy Goldstein.
The Scotsman’s current deal at the London Stadium expires at the end of the season and while an extension is understood to be on the table, reports have suggested the Hammers are targeting Ruben Amorim [David Ornstein, 22 April].
While the Irons are yet to comment on these links, talkSPORT host Goldstein has slammed the Hammers board for their indecision and urged them to make a final call on the 60-year-old’s long-term future.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (18: 45) he said: “I just wonder, supposedly there’s a contract on the table for David Moyes and he’ll make his decision at the end of the season. I sort of feel that he’s not going to stay there.
“If the club came out and they agreed between them and David Moyes what the future is, let’s just say he’s not going to carry on after the season. If the club came out and said it, at least the fans could sort of pat him on the back and enjoy the last few games.
“Here you just don’t know what’s happening. It must be so frustrating for the fans. The club shouldn’t have allowed him to have the power here. Nobody likes uncertainty at the club.”
Will West Ham United sack David Moyes at the London Stadium?
The Hammers fanbase have been divided over Moyes for almost the entirety of the season, with some suggesting that the Scotsman deserves more credit for his previous work, while others have slammed his defensive first style of play.
It seems increasingly likely that the two parties will part ways at the end of the campaign, but without an official announcement emerging at the London Stadium, it is impossible for the Hammers to begin to prepare for next season.

Whether or not the board in East London will listen to Goldstein and supporters’ pleas and break their silence on their plans for next season remains to be seen, but you’d imagine some sort of announcement must be close.
Hopefully, some clarity will emerge sooner rather than later as fans want to know who will be in the London Stadium dugout come the start of next season.
