West Ham United to start bidding war for Leicester City ace Harvey Barnes at £30m

West Ham will reportedly be starting the bidding war ahead of Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle for Harvey Barnes.

According to the Telegraph [08 June], Leicester City value the England international at £40million but the Hammers will offer £30million initially.

The London club are understood to be open to spending this summer, especially after making money from Declan Rice’s sale.

Interesting

It seems like after securing European football, West Ham are wasting no time to begin plans for next season and Barnes appears to be a priority.

The Leicester attacker is on the back of an impressive season and his 13 league goals were not enough to keep them in the league.

Relegation for them makes it easier for the Hammers to get the best possible deal as Barnes is one player who’s certain to leave.

He was among the best wide players in the league and he’s certainly not going to want to settle in the Championship where he’ll certainly be the best attacker.

Barnes will have aspirations of making the England squad for EURO 2024 and doing that in the second tier is not going to be possible.

Should David Moyes stay, he would like bringing in the 25-year-old as he will suit their style of play perfectly.
