West Ham United to receive six-figure fee from Josh Cullen sale
West Ham United will receive a big sell-on fee for former player Josh Cullen as he nears his next career move, according to the Irish Examiner.
The Irons have a 20% sell-on clause in the deal that saw the Republic of Ireland international leave the club to join Anderlecht in Belgium back in 2020 after just three appearances for West Ham.
Vincent Kompany now wants to bring the 26-year-old with him from the Belgian club to Burnley in the Championship in a deal that could be worth £2.5million.

20% of that fee would be £500,000 which would find itself into the Hammers’ accounts to add to that half a million pounds he was originally sold for two years ago.
TEAMtalk reported on 1 April that Cullen was being considered as a summer target at the London Stadium with Burnley one of the clubs mentioned to be in the race at the time along with a host of English sides.
Easy
Will we ever make an easier half a million quid than that?
Cullen never really showed enough while he was at Rush Green to make us play him on any kind of regular basis and it made total sense to sell him when we did and now it’s like we are doing so again.

The even better news for us is that we don’t need to worry about playing against him this season after plenty of development at Anderlecht.
He could go on to be a superb signing for Burnley and spearhead their charge towards an automatic return to the Premier League alongside fellow Irish international Nathan Collins but he was never going to do that for us.
Instead, he has inadvertently helped fund the wages of some of the new stars that could help us go above and beyond in both domestic and continental competitions to bridge the gap between mid-table fodder and top-six supremacy.
