West Ham United to match Alex Scott transfer bids from Premier League duo
West Ham United have told Bristol City they will match the two bids that have already been submitted for Alex Scott, according to KUMB.
Sky Sports recently reported (22 June) that the Robins are desperate to tie the 19-year-old down to a new contract but might be forced to cash in on their “crown jewel” for a fee of around £25million.
Scott, who won the Championship’s Young Player of the Year award last campaign, is wanted by Premier League duo Spurs and Wolves, who have both already submitted offers for his services.

“According to KUMB sources, Wolves have made an opening offer of £15million with a further £5million in add-ons – while Tottenham are understood to have tabled a bid worth £18million,” they wrote.
“And while West Ham are yet to make a concrete offer, the Hammers have told City they will match both Wolves’ and Tottenham’s current bids – leaving the player to decide which club he would like to represent next season.
“However none of the bids have yet matched Bristol’s valuation of their main asset, with the Championship club seeking in excess of £25million for the player.”

Transfer tussle begins
Scott has earned high praise from the likes of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola after the Robins met the Premier League champions in the FA Cup last season, and he continued this fine form in the Championship last season.
Although the £25million valuation may look a little steep at first glance, his numbers do the talking.
Beyond the assured attacking qualities he possesses, which saw him rank 11th in take-ons completed (46) and 1st for fouls won (96) last season, the Englishman is also solid in defence, winning 77 tackles last year, which was just nine fewer than Luton Town anchorman Marvelous Nakamba.
The Robins teenager is at his best when playing in the hole behind a striker, however, he has also proven himself capable of thriving in a midfield two, out wide, or even as a wing-back during his time at Ashton Gate.
Few obvious weaknesses have arisen in Scott’s game during the early stages of his burgeoning career, and West Ham would be striking a brilliant deal if they could sign the midfielder for anywhere in the region of £25million.
