West Ham United transfer news as club to launch £35m Sergej Milinkovic-Savic bid

The agent of Lazio maestro Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has collected an offer of £35million from West Ham United, according to Calciomercato.

The report claims that Mateja Kezman is looking for the most “profitable solution” to get his player out of the Rome-based club, who will likely receive that offer this summer.

However, West Ham United will face stiff competition for his signature from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United.

“Outside, at the same time, the tacit agreement with his agent (and with the club itself) is to find the most profitable solution possible on the market, compatibly with his aspirations,” as quoted by Calciomercato. (26 February)

“For now, his agent, Mateja Kezman, has collected offers of around 40 million euros from Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham. And one year after the deadline, it seems reasonable to assume that all the assaults that will arrive in the summer will settle on that figure.”

Class-act.

Is the Serbian midfielder being eyed up as a potential replacement for Declan Rice should he leave the London Stadium this summer?

There’s a very good chance that is the case in this one and the Hammers could do far worse on the market than the talented Lazio ace.

His current contract expires in the summer of 2024 which may give clubs some bargaining power when launching bids for the playmaker.

During his time in Rome, the Serbian has contributed 64 goals and 59 assists in 324 appearances and on a whole has played extremely well in Serie A.

Nevertheless, his form has taken somewhat of a dip since the FIFA World Cup and this may be because his agent drumming up interest in his signature.

This again may lower his asking price but £35m still seems like a fair deal for a midfielder who has every attribute needed to thrive in the English top flight.
