West Ham United to fight Premier League rivals for Lyon winger Tete
West Ham United are set to battle Premier League rivals for silky Lyon winger Tete’s signature in January, according to the Sun.
The 22-year-old winger is currently on loan at the Ligue 1 side from Shakhtar Donetsk and has a list of admirers from the English top flight.
Leicester City, Brentford and Southampton are said to be willing to battle West Ham for the Brazil Under-23 international when the transfer window reopens on 1 January with him valued at over £25million.
The report suggests that whilst Tete’s loan is until the end of the season at Lyon, the South American ace is keen to strike a deal in January.
Any club looking to secure Tete’s services would have to come to an arrangement to buy out the players’ current loan deal.

Tete has been in red-hot form this season for Lyon in Ligue 1, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 11 Ligue 1 games.
It’s no surprise that he has a long list of admirers and the Hammers will face stiff competition to lure him to London.
The report suggested that Southampton, Leicester and Brentford all explored a £25million deal for Tete in the summer.
This suggests he could be available for a fairly cheap price, especially considering the frightening form he’s currently in.
It never hurts to bolster your attacking options and West Ham would be foolish not to explore a deal for the Brazilian, he has an extremely high ceiling.
A move to play for a team pitting it out in European competition may give the Irons a slight advantage over their Premier League rivals in this one too.
Tete’s contract in Ukraine expires next year, so this could be Shakhtar’s final chance to get some money for their star.
