West Ham United: Tim Steidten update emerges as David Moyes sack decision looms
West Ham are confident of keeping Tim Steidten at the club despite interest from Liverpool, and it is said he will play a crucial role in deciding David Moyes’ future, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via its website on 17 February that, after West Ham delayed contract talks with Moyes, his future could be resolved in the coming weeks, as Ryan Taylor relayed via his X account.
It has also been widely reported that there remains friction between the two men, so should Steidten remain at the London Stadium, it could point to an exit for the boss.
David Moyes’ future could be decided by Tim Steidten at West Ham
Moyes’ future seems as if it will be decided sooner rather than later, following a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest directly off the back of 3-0 and 6-0 defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
If Steidten is the one to stick the final nail in Moyes’ coffin in East London, as has been suggested by the crucial role he will play in the manager’s future, it could come as even more of a bitter blow to the boss.
It has been said previously that Steidten would be more likely to leave the London Stadium if Moyes did remain, so it is safe to assume that would work the other way round and if he now seems likely to stay, Moyes could be out.
The good news for West Ham in this situation is the confidence they hold in retaining the services of the man who was crucial in the success of their summer transfer window, despite having confessed it was an honour to be linked with Liverpool.
