West Ham United: talkSPORT pundits stunned by ‘fantastic’ Mohammed Kudus after what he did this week
Rory Jennings and Ade Oladipo were left stunned by what West Ham star Mohammed Kudus did for Ghana against Egypt on Thursday (18 January).
Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday (19 January), pundit Jennings said the 23-year-old is “fantastic” after he scored a brilliant left-footed strike for the Black Stars in the first half of the Africa Cup of Nations clash before getting on the scoresheet again after the break in the 2-2 draw.
Host Oladipo added that the Hammers will have their fingers crossed that the forward comes back immediately as they will want Ghana to make an early exit from the tournament.
“Kudus, an excellent signing,” said Jennings. “Perfect for West Ham. He’s perfect, isn’t he? Did you see the goal he scored yesterday?”
“Yeah, of course I did,” responded Oladipo.
“Mate, he’s fantastic,” added Jennings.
“They’ll be like fingers crossed he comes back now, fit and not injured,” said Oladipo. “They want Ghana out of that tournament, they want Kudus back.”
Quality
It was quite clear following his record with Ajax that West Ham were getting a quality player, but nobody knew just how good he would prove to be at the London Stadium.
While it’s still early days in his time at the club, the forward has been nothing short of exceptional, having built up a promising partnership with fellow attackers Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta before he headed out to the tournament.
In the FA Cup defeat against Bristol City, the Hammers seriously missed that trio, who have scored 28 goals between them this season.
It would be disappointing for the Ghanaian if his country were to make an early exit from the tournament, but it would certainly help us over the next few weeks after our attacking options have been decimated.
It may be a while away yet, but all the Irons fans will be looking forward to the day when our attacking trio are all back on the field together as they are crucial to our chances of making this another successful campaign.
