West Ham United could be the topic of a new takeover bid as speculation continues to be rife with the Irons’ board.

There has been a lot of noise upstairs at London Stadium in recent weeks, with Karren Brady’s exit coming as a surprise.

The Baroness is set to leave the Irons after more than a decade as part of the club’s board.

Hammers fans have long wanted Brady to leave West Ham, and frustration has not stopped with her, as criticism for the overall ownership of the East London side has been commonplace as well.

Now, Amanda Staveley has emerged as a potential candidate for a West Ham takeover, as reports share she is putting together a team to conduct a bid.

What has been said about Amanda Staveley taking over West Ham?

West Ham fans have been growing frustrated with the ownership of David Sullivan over recent years, and news of a potential takeover may be music to their ears.

For a long time, it had been speculated that Daniel Kretinsky was primed to purchase a majority stake, but it appears a new player has entered.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, business executive Amanda Staveley is putting together a bid to take over a new Premier League team with both Newcastle and West Ham on her radar.

The report shares that the businesswoman is gaining support from backers in America in order to put together an investment package for a bid.

Staveley, who is a financial heavyweight, helped lead the consortium of investors when PIF took over Newcastle from Mike Ashley in 2021 but is lying in wait to potentially lead another purchase of the Geordies if the Saudis wish to back out.

However, if a deal can be done for West Ham, she is “keeping an eye” on that situation as well.

A West Ham takeover is said to be more expensive than Newcastle’s due to the London location, but the valuation will, of course, depend on the Hammers’ top-flight status.

Amanda Staveley’s history in English football

Staveley has long been a name associated with English football, with various connections to takeovers across the Premier League.

The most recent sale of Newcastle to PIF has been her latest work, but she has attempted to purchase other clubs ever since.

In 2024, the businesswoman failed with a bid to purchase Tottenham Hotspur.

Additionally, Staveley was involved and helped Sheikh Mansour during his process of purchasing Manchester City back in 2008.
