West Ham United striker set to seal exit, £5million deal on the cards – report
West Ham United forward Albian Ajeti has never lived up to expectations since arriving at the London Stadium.
The Switzerland international has made little-to-no impact since arriving from Basel, and it looks like his time could be coming to an end at the club after only one season.
David Moyes needs to sell players in order to bring anyone in, and the Scotsman is getting rid of the so-called deadwood at the club.
Ajeti is one of those on the brink of an exit.
The Daily Record has reported that Celtic are closing in on sealing a £5million move for the 23-year-old this week.
It is suggested by the newspaper on their website that Ajeti is expected at Parkhead imminently to complete a tour of their facilities.
A loan move was expected for Ajeti, but Celtic have instead agreed to bring in the striker on a permanent deal after negotiating with the Irons.
The 23-year-old only completed 132 minutes in the Premier League in his nine substitute appearances, and he failed to score a single goal.
Ajeti only had three shots on goal in those appearances according to WhoScored, and that is nowhere near good enough. Moyes has probably seen enough to be happy to let the forward leave the club and use the money elsewhere.
The Scottish Premier League is more suited for Ajeti’s ability, and after all, the Premier League isn’t for everyone.
