West Ham United striker Divin Mubama transfer news emerges ahead of January

West Ham striker Divin Mubama is not forcing an exit in January despite rejecting a new contract, according to Paul Brown.

The Josimar journalist told Give Me Sport that he’s not hearing anything that suggests the 18-year-old wants out of the club.

The Athletic reported that his rejection of a new deal puts doubt on his future at the London Stadium but talks are ongoing to keep him at the club.

Brown said: “I think it’s a bit early for Mubama to be thinking about leaving West Ham. He has had his big chance. I didn’t really expect David Moyes to give him a run of starts, and I doubt that he really believed that would happen either.

“He is a young player who has still got a lot to learn, but I think he has shown that he can get into this team. As West Ham have given him a chance, he probably owes it to them to repay that faith.

“He is going to get chances this season. He has forced his way in because they are a bit short of numbers, but I think he would be very unwise to start agitating for a move away. I don’t really hear that he is doing that, so I think that might be a stretch.”

Needs the right attitude

The teenage striker faces a crucial juncture in his career and maintaining the right attitude is paramount for his development.

While he may be frustrated with limited Premier League minutes, Mubama’s rejection of a contract extension and potential desire to force a move could be premature.

Firstly, David Moyes has shown faith in Mubama by providing him with first-team opportunities at such a young age.

This trust should be reciprocated and the stroler has a debt of gratitude to the club for fostering his development.

Trying to force a move now might jeopardise the positive rapport he has with the coaching staff and hinder his growth.

Also, Mubama is still in the early stages of his career, with ample time for improvement so patience is crucial for young talents and consistent hard work on the training ground coupled with a positive mindset can lead to more opportunities in the future.

Rushing into a transfer could see him facing challenges adapting to a new environment, potentially hindering his progress as has been the case with some of the young talents that have left West Ham recently.

In other West Ham news, Aston Villa want to sign an international Hammers player and things aren’t going well for him currently.
