West Ham United striker Danny Ings to be dropped v Everton with January sale on the cards

West Ham striker Danny Ings was given a chance against Olympiacos but didn’t do enough to justify his inclusion v Everton on Sunday, 29 October.

The Hammers lost the game 2-1 and Ings, 31, did not have the best of luck in front of goal, struggling to threaten in the final third.

David Moyes kept him on the pitch for just 58 minutes and his one-dimensional game will certainly not have impressed him a great deal.

Ings, in many ways, is an old-school number nine and prefers to stay within the width of the 18-yard area.

According to Sofascore, he managed to complete just six passes all game which shows that he was virtually nonexistent in the build up.

He also failed to complete any key pass and just had one shot on target from which he should’ve found the back of the net.

He mustered up an xG of 0.54 and while that’s not ideal, a half decent finisher also manages to score from there.

Aerially too, he lost 66 per cent of his duels and thus failed to have the sort of impact that Moyes would’ve wanted him to have.

Given his age and injury record, a January sale must be on the cards as he could leave the club on a free transfer and not really be worth paying the wages too.

Cashing in on him in the winter will see them getting something for his services and he’ll also be off the payroll at the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
