West Ham United starlet Harrison Ashby focus of talks with Newcastle United
West Ham United youngster Harrison Ashby is still a target for Newcastle United ahead of the transfer deadline, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old has been the subject of talks between the two Premier League clubs with the Magpies hoping to beat the 11pm deadline to sign the natural right-back.
Ashby’s chances at the London Stadium have been few and far between with Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson holding the monopoly of that position under David Moyes and he now could be set to leave.

His contract at Rush Green is expiring at the end of this season and this may be the last chance the Irons get to receive a transfer fee unless they choose to activate his one-year contract extension written into his current deal.
Eddie Howe is keen to sign Ashby to provide cover behind Kieran Trippier after Swede Emil Krafth suffered a long-term injury in the Carabao Cup against Tranmere Rovers.
No loss
Without Coufal and Johnson either getting injured or being sold, Ashby will remain someone who only gets the odd substitute appearance alongside Under-21s football at West Ham.
Moyes will not be overly devastated if Toon do go ahead and snatch him away in the final hours of the transfer window but they might equally like to keep him a little bit longer.

Ashby does possess a good amount of potential to be a Premier League payer in the future but he needs game time to achieve that and, as is so often the case at the London Stadium, he doesn’t look likely to get that.
The Scottish Under-21 international should have already been sent out on loan this summer so he could play regularly in the Championship or League One and really test himself.
There is still time to achieve that but St James’ Park appears to be the most likely destination now if they can come to an agreement with West Ham.
