West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus undergoing ‘special treatment’ for injury blow as videos emerge
West Ham star Mohammed Kudus is undergoing special treatment in Ghana as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury before he can join the squad for the African Cup of Nations, according to Sean Whetstone.
The West Ham news source, along with Ghanaian Hammers, reported on X that multiple videos have emerged in Ghana of the attacker undergoing massages and other treatment at his house.
Kudus is set to join the Ghana team and depart with them to the Ivory Coast ahead of the tournament, although he is still not ready to play.
West Ham just need him to stay fit
Without wanting to disrespect Ghana or the African Cup of Nations, West Ham’s focus will be on whether their star player can retain his fitness. If that means resting him for the opening stages of the tournament so his recovery goes smoothly, then that’s what must be done.
From a Ghana point of view, of course, they want their star man fit for the tournament. His presence in the team gives them a boost and heightens their chances of winning the trophy as will be their aim before they kick off against Cape Verde.
Hamstring injuries are notoriously difficult in terms of recovery. They need time and rest to heal, not just physiotherapy, but that is something Ghana cannot afford as they prepare for AFCON.
It does appear, though, that Kudus may be rushed back to fitness and played as soon as he can, rather than resting to ensure his recovery is the best it can be, increasing the risk of aggravating the injury which would be a gutting blow.
In other West Ham news, a January exit is currently on hold at the London Stadium.
