West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta suffering from confidence issue
West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta failed to help the Irons’ attack kick-off after being deployed by Moyes in his favoured number eight role, according to journalist James Jones.
Paqueta again went missing in a lacklustre West Ham United performance on December 30 that saw the club slump to a 2-0 home defeat to Brentford.
Jones confessed that the Brazilian playmaker is clearly suffering from a “confidence issue” after the defeat to Brentford in the Premier League.
“I thought Paqueta playing at 8 would kick our attack into life but it didn’t,” said Jones on Twitter.
“Clearly a confidence issue at this point.”

Despite dropping deeper for the Hammers in the role he occupied for Brazil at the FIFA World Cup, Paqueta needs to give more to the team.
The Brazilian was pretty anonymous against Arsenal on 26 December also and just looks to be completely short of confidence at the moment.
There were times against Brentford when he showed glimpses of brilliance but his final pass and killer edge are missing at the moment.
Barring one decent effort on goal in the second half the Brazilian playmaker was on a whole wasteful for West Ham United and he needs to get his act together.
His performance was summed up towards the end of the game when he was taken off, something you don’t want to see from your record club signing.
Whether it’s Moyes’ tactics or simply Paqueta underperforming, the Brazilian is certainly out of sorts and in the harsh Premier League, there is zero time to sulk.
