West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen update shared as England squad to be named
West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen is set to be left out of the England squad by Lee Carsley, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist reported on 3 October that along with Bowen, Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire and Tottenham attacking midfielder James Maddison have all been omitted.
The 27-year-old Hammers attacker has made 12 caps for the Three Lions thus far and was included in the Euro 2024 squad.
Jarrod Bowen and West Ham have had a slow start to the season
The Hammers have failed to really take off this season and that has resulted in Bowen being dropped from the England squad.
While fans will be happy as he will get a much-needed breather, the 27-year-old himself would’ve wanted to be picked.
However, one goal and one assist from six Premier League games was not enough for Carsley who appears to have gone in a different direction.
The competition for places is high so one can understand why Bowen has not been picked purely on the basis of form.
Hopefully, he will use the international break to relax and then do a bit of individual work to be more clinical in the final third.

He has not been the same player he was last season and Julen Lopetegui certainly will be looking for more from him.
