West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen learns from Dutch legend Arjen Robben

West Ham star Jarrod Bowen often watches clips of the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben in an attempt to improve his all-round game, according to The Atheltic.

As reported by Roshane Thomas on 25 September, Bowen uses Robben as inspiration and is studying the way he could glide past his man before taking the shot on either foot.

The West Ham man aims to replicate the Dutch legend in feeling comfortable shooting with either foot after Hammers staff felt his tendency to prefer his left foot meant he was posing less of a threat than he potentially could.

Always aiming to improve

The sign of a great player is that they are never satisfied with where they are in their career. Bowen, at 26, still has plenty of time on his side and is looking to grow as a player and turn his impact on the game into a more well-rounded threat.

Using one of the greats of the game as his inspiration will help the winger to improve personally, while his desire to nullify the weaknesses he and his coaching staff feel are impacting his game shows how strong his mentality and determination to succeed are.

Always keen to add more to his game, the headed goal against Liverpool earned him a comparison to Ian Wright live on BBC, and this will serve as further inspiration to add more to the way he plays and become a bigger threat.

Bowen has four goals from six Premier League appearances so far this season, as well as one assist, as he is proving he can bear the weight of expectation placed upon him as the Hammers’ key attacking outlet alongside striker Michail Antonio.
