West Ham star almost certain to play v Spurs despite knock on int’l duty – report
West Ham United defender Arthur Masuaku is almost certain to play against Tottenham in the upcoming Premier League clash.
Claret and Hugh have reported the positive update on their website, claiming that the Congo international had returned early from international duty.
It was first reported that Masuaku returned after an agreement between his two managers and backroom staff at the London Stadium.
That doesn’t appear to be the case.
Claret and Hugh claim that it was Masuaku himself who made the decision, in order to be fully fit for the London derby next week.
The 25-year-old quit the games against Burkina Faso and Morocco after feeling a tweak in his knee that needed checking out back with the Irons.
Hammers medical staff have already checked out the problem, and could not find any injury meaning he is free to play against Spurs.
David Moyes will be delighted with that.
The Hammers boss has had massive success with his new system in the past two weeks, and Masuaku has been a pivotal part of that.
The left-back has been pushed forward into midfield out wide ahead of Aaron Cresswell, and that freedom has seen him flourish in wins against Leicester and Wolves.
This news should all but guarantee his place in the starting XI against Spurs, with there being no injury found in his assessments.
