West Ham United standing firm on Nikola Vlasic as new Russian interest emerges

West Ham United are standing firm on Nikola Vlasic leaving, as continued interest from Torino and fresh links from Russia emerge, according to Claret and Hugh.

Vlasic has had an impressive season in Serie A so it’s hardly surprising that numerous teams from different countries are vying to sign him.

Claret and Hugh confessed that West Ham United have no intention of changing their mind on Vlasic and bringing him back to the club, with “interest” from Russia and Torino in the midfielder.

“West Ham have no intention of changing their minds by bringing Nikola Vlasic back to the club,” as quoted by Claret and Hugh.

“The £25million signing was sent on loan to Torino and there is also interest from the Russian League after his impressive performances in Italy.”

So it seems any return to West Ham United is completely off the cards for Vlasic despite the maestro’s impressive outings for Torino and Croatia at the FIFA World Cup.

From Russia with love.

A return to Russia could definitely be on the cards for Vlasic after the midfielder recently refused to rule out a move back to the country.

“Of course! I love Moscow. I have only good memories of CSKA,” said Vlasic to Championat.

“Who knows what will happen in the future.”

West Ham United will at least be able to recoup some of the £25m they splashed on the midfielder back in the summer of 2021.

Seeing him leave after not proving himself at the London Stadium is a shame though, he looks like a real talent who just didn’t get the opportunity to settle in the Premier League.

Whether this was actually down to not suiting the English top flight, or Moyes’s refusal to play him regularly is something we may never actually find out.

However, it looks like the midfielder wasn’t happy during his time in London, so a switch away is probably the best option for all parties involved here.

The positive to take from this is losing Vlasic means there is one less player on the wage bill, something that needs to be drastically chopped down this season.
