West Ham United stance shared as Inter Milan and Atalanta in race for Gianluca Scamacca

West Ham are understood to be unhappy with the Inter Milan offer for striker Gianluca Scamacca with Atalanta also keen, claims Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports Italy journalist reported on Friday (4 August) that Inter had made a £20.7million bid for the Italian along with a few add-ons.

That left the Hammers unhappy as they value the 24-year-old far more than that and Atalanta are looking to capitalise on this.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Atalanta are trying to hijack Inter move for Gianluca Scamacca. West Ham are not happy with €24m plus add-ons bid made by Inter today

“Inter remain on their position. West Ham expect Atalanta to send an important proposal, bigger than Inter’s one. Race on.”

Keep the price

West Ham cannot be taken for a ride just because the striker wants to leave after one bad season at the club.

He’s already been signed for big money and the least the Hammers will want to do is recoup that money for the 24-year-old.

Ideally, David Moyes would not want to be selling him but it seems that the club will let him go if the money is good.

This puts further pressure on the recruitment department as it’s already August and there’s been no first-team signing made by the club.

Moyes is also believed to be at odds with Tim Steidten and it remains to be seen how that dynamic transpires in the coming days and weeks.

Hopefully, the Hammers have already lined up a suitable replacement for the striker and they should move for him as soon as Scamacca leaves.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
