ExWHUemployee shares what West Ham United sources have told him about Rafa Benitez replacing David Moyes

ExWHUemployee has squashed rumours that David Moyes is about to be sacked and replaced by Rafael Benitez at West Ham United.

The Hammers and Moyes face a crucial Premier League tie against Everton on 21 January, one which could ultimately decide the Scot’s fate.

Nevertheless, speaking to The West Ham Way, Ex has shared that his sources at the club, including staff members, told him that there is “nothing in it” regarding Benitez links to the club.

“Reporting on the story on The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex stated that sources have said this is news to the club and that it’s unlikely to happen at this stage,” as quoted by The West Ham Way (16 January).

“I have been told that the Rafa Benitez stories are “News to me” by one source and that there is nothing in it, said our man-in-the-know.”

”I have also spoke to a couple of playing staff who are completely unaware of the story too. David Moyes took training as normal today and the team prepared for Everton.”

West Ham

Crunch time.

With Premier League games against Everton, Newcastle United and Chelsea up next for Moyes and West Ham United, there has never been more speculation surrounding his future at the club.

And failure to win any of these games would ultimately spell the end of his time at the London Stadium, a loss against Everton may even be enough for the board to sack him.

If this is the case, the Hammers will need to be swift in their search for a new gaffer, there is little time to waste in a Premier League relegation scrap that is heating up.

Benitez is a solid option to consider and would bring a sense of stability to the team having managed multiple Premier League clubs throughout his career.

He probably isn’t the name fans want and crave though, however, beggars can’t be choosers in a situation like this and Premier League safety must be the priority for the team.
