West Ham United sources share Divin Mubama updates amid ‘outrageous’ contract demand from agents

Divin Mubama’s agents have made “outrageous” financial demands to West Ham United in order to secure his long-term future at the London Stadium, according to Six Foot Two.

The reliable Hammers news source (3 November) has shared that the teenager’s agents want Premier League first-team starter wages for their client which has led to a standoff in negotiations on a new contract.

The Athletic journalist, Roshane Thomas shared on his personal Twitter account on Monday 30 October that the young striker has rejected a contract extension at the London Stadium and it’s believed the Hammers want to send him out on loan but with a new contract sorted out in advance.

Essex-based Elite management agency has made some outrageous financial demands for their 19-year-old client.

“West Ham are keen to send Mubama out on loan to a Championship side to cut his teeth in regular first-team football but want him to sign a new contract in advance of that.”

Intentions clear

It’s pretty clear what Mubama and his representatives want from West Ham United, and that’s regular first-team football for their young talented client.

The England Under-19 forward is yet to feature in the league and was not in the matchday squad for the 1-0 loss to Everton last Saturday or the EFL Cup win over Arsenal — only played 24 minutes of first-team football this season under manager David Moyes.

West Ham

If the Hammers somehow hope to change his mind about moving then they’ve simply got to give him opportunities or face the prospect of losing such another burgeoning young youth talent.

West Ham United have lost a number of their youth prodigies already this year but losing Mubama could well be totally catastrophic for a club who have such rich traditions with their academy projects and a club intent on unveiling the next Declan Rice.

Mubama is certainly amongst that bracket and the club’s decision to send him out on loan with a new contract certainly makes a lot of sense.

However, given the Hammers’ terrible need for striker inspiration right now due to the dreadful form of Michail Antonio, Mubama is a clear candidate to succeed him and Moyes has to be rewarded with opportunities in the first team.

The terrible trend of talented young teenage stars leaving the London Stadium could well continue if West Ham United don’t make a first-team guarantee soon.
