West Ham United: Sources react to Tim Steidten question at the London Stadium
West Ham sources have refused to confirm whether Tim Steidten has a release clause in his contract amid interest from Liverpool, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via its website on 17 February that, no confirmation has emerged from the club or sources about a possible release clause, leaving the subject somewhat clouded as speculation continues.
This has emerged after it was reported that, despite his personal admiration for Liverpool, it would cost a hefty compensation fee to poach the Hammers’ technical director.
Could Tim Steidten go to Liverpool from West Ham?
Since Jurgen Klopp announced he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, the managerial position has been a key talking point, but with that also comes speculation surrounding the position of technical director as the club begins a new direction.
Steidten has been highlighted for that role after he played a key part in bringing the likes of Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus to the London Stadium during the summer.
His relationship with former Liverpool midfielder, and current Bayer Leverkusen boss, Xabi Alonso has also been a driving force behind those links, with Alonso reportedly targeted to take over at Anfield.

The Hammers, however, are reportedly confident about keeping the technical director in East London, and the uncertainty surrounding a release clause will only come as a positive to them.
