West Ham United source reveals David Moyes sack decision

West Ham United’s board are set to stick by David Moyes as the pressure starts to increase on the Scot, according to Six Foot Two.

Leicester City were the latest team to inflict more misery at the London Stadium as the Irons suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Foxes.

Six Foot Two report (13 November) that a senior club source has revealed that there are “no immediate” plans to sack Moyes, despite the risk of “financial armageddon” should the Irons get relegated.

Speaking to 6foot2 on Sunday afternoon a senior club source was reportedly quoted as saying: “We are worried about results, but we are loyal people.”

Stick or twist

Moyes has done a lot for the club over the years and is due a degree of patience. However, at the moment performances are at a dire level and something has to change. The World Cup break seemed like the best time for a new manager to take the reigns at the club.

Three weeks on the training ground without the pressure of fans would be an ideal scenario for a new manager to come into. However, the Irons have made a bold decision to stick by Moyes despite the poor results. If things don’t turn around after the World Cup the board could regret their decision.

Considering the money the club invested in the summer, the top six had to yet again be the aim. Moyes has shown he’s an excellent manager, particularly with lesser players who are in underdog situations. However, much like when he was in charge at Manchester United he potentially struggles when there are some higher-quality players at his disposal.
